Essex Ford Supports 2014 Macmillan Coffee Morning*

Due to the success of last year, customers and staff at Essex Ford Dunton near Basildon will enjoy coffee (other beverages are available), cakes and splendid savoury snacks to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Anyone can drop in to Essex Ford Dunton on Friday 26th September for a cuppa and the best cakes that the Great British Bake Off can inspire, so please visit and help us do even better than last year!

Macmillan Coffee Mornings began in 1990, when a local fundraising committee held a coffee morning where people donated the price of their coffee to the charity. The first National World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was held in 1991 and since then it has raised over £113 million.

The Coffee Morning is now Macmillan's biggest event. Last year 154,000 people signed up, raising a record £20 million for charity and Essex Ford's own efforts made £330.

Money raised goes towards paying for specially trained Macmillan nurses, benefits advisers, social workers, and family support workers, plus support and information services.

This year Essex Ford has agreed to participate again and we are therefore asking for your support in bringing in cakes or savoury items on Friday 26 th September. The only stipulation has to be that they are ‘home made’!

Jackie Steele, Human Resources Manager for Essex Auto Group, said: “Sadly, over the last few years, we have lost work colleagues and friends to cancer, so we jumped at the chance to give something back to Macmillan who help people living with cancer."

"Cancer patients need a team of people in their corner supporting them every step of the way. With this generous support from our staff and customers we have taken a positive step to making sure no-one has to face cancer alone."
