Essex Auto Group Sponsor the Eastgate Centre Team in Bike Ride
Essex Auto Group are sponsoring the Eastgate Centre Team in the London to Paris bike ride which is taking place on Wednesday 22nd July. Hans Wustefeld, General Manager of the Eastgate shopping centre is taking part in the ride to raise money for Action Medical Research. He is riding alongside other staff and associates from the Eastgate Shopping Centre, whom we regularly work alongside during our community projects.
The sponsored bike ride takes off from Basildon and finishes up along the L’arc de Triomphe in Paris, one day before the Tour De France finishes there.
Action Medical Research specialise in children’s health by tackling problems affecting pregnancy, childbirth, babies, children and adolescents. In the UK alone 70,000 newborn babies are born prematurely so there is a high-demand for help in this area.
The riders from the Eastgate Centre are aiming to raise £20,000 this year. Last year they raised enough money to donate an incubator to Basildon University Hospital.
The race is approximately 323 miles long and the riders are aiming to cycle an average of 86 miles a day. You can follow the team’s progress on Twitter, www.twitter.com/eastkings.
