Essex Auto Group Graham Gooch Cricket Centre

Essex Auto Group have struck a 3 year sponsorship deal with the popular Graham Gooch Cricket centre. The 18th May saw the launch of the exciting new sponsorship deal which saw a host of different media sources attend the event.

Thousands of cricketers of all ages and abilities have trained alongside Essex's elite at the indoor cricket centre, which opened in 1977 and was extended to six lanes in 1992. Last year alone there were tens of thousands of visitors to the cricket centre, and former opening batsman Gooch said: "It is a vital part of Essex's future. It is where we develop our players and bring them through, and it is a focal point of the county.

Gooch, who is now Essex's bating coach, was present along with head coach Paul Grayson and players Maurice Chambers, Grant Flower, James Foster, Graham Napier and Ryan ten Doeschate at the opening day launch. they were joined by pupils from Pius School in Chelmsford in a demonstration game inside the cricket centre after Gooch cut the ribbon at the launch.

Essex chief executive David East said: "We are delighted to have Essex Auto Group supporting our indoor cricket centre - the centre is actively used throughout the year, providing first-class facilities to cricket players of all ages and abilities".

The Cricket Centre opened in 1977 and was extended to six lanes in 1992.  Over the years many thousands of cricketers have trained alongside Essex’s elite.  Last year there were tens of thousands of visitors to the Cricket Centre and coaching took place throughout the year.
