All-New Fiat Panda
The Fiat Panda has graced our streets for an astonishing 31 years, and continues to go from strength to strength. It was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011 and is due to be released in the UK soon.
The new Panda is slightly longer than the outgoing model, resulting in improved boot space which makes this the biggest boot in its class. The new Panda seats five people comfortably and features clever thin seat backs which maximises legroom for rear passengers. There is also a rear sliding bench and a front backrest that converts into a table for picnics on the go, plus cubby holes galore for extra storage.
The Panda has a distinctive third window which makes this car more individual and stylish, while also offering improved visibility. Swollen wheel arches provide a sporty appearance. Fiat will also offer a giant glass sunroof, called the Skydome.
There will be a variety of engines available for the new Panda, including a 0.9 Aspirated TwinAir with 64bhp, 0.9-litre TwinAir Turbo with 84bhp, 1.2 FIRE petrol with 68bhp and 1.3 Multijet diesel with 74bhp. Stop-start technology will be available along with gearchange advisory messages and Fiat’s Dualogic robotised manual transmission.
Safety features highly in the new Fiat Panda. It will come with four airbags, anti-lock, pre-tensioner seatbelts and daytime running lamps. There will also be an auto-brake function that will carry out an emergency stop at speeds of up to 20mph if a collision is detected.
