Essex Fiat - Help 4 Heroes Supporter
Essex Fiat are pleased to see Andy Gibbs and fellow Navy offers raising much needed money for the deserving Military personal for risk thier lives every day.
On the 13th August the Help for Heroes sailor bear christened “Nelson Bear” for the weekend made his debut in Cardiff.
CPO James “JC” Cameron-Wood volunteered to don the suit and was assisted by Petty Officer Andy “Gibbo” Gibbs. Hero Bear and Gibbo can be seen in the foyer of the Holiday Inn before starting their day’s collection.
The Duo started in the Prince of Wales pub at 0900 on the Saturday morning before heading to the Queens Vault where the duo set up base camp prior to kick off.
£2,100 was raised before kick-off from the generous rugby supporters of both Wales and England.
JC was not helped by the humid conditions and was suffering wearing the bear suit.
After the game we visited the following establishments The Goat Major, The Gatekeepers, The Borough, Little O’Neils, and The City Arms before retiring to the bar at the Holiday Inn and counting our heavy buckets. £1,300 was raised after the game, making it a very successful day.
We will be back in Cardiff on the 28 August as we prepare to start our walk on the 29 August.
