EAG sponsors Help for Heroes walk from Wembley to Cardiff
Between 18th and 24th March there are three currently serving members of the Royal Navy who starting from today will be walking from Wembley to Cardiff. The Officers on HMS St Albans, Andy Gibbs, Robert Brown and Dave Chandler will be carrying the match ball for the Wales V England International Football match due to be held on 26th March at the Millenium Stadium which will then be used to kick off the much-anticipated game.
With several 35 mile check points, the trio known as Gibbo, Buster and Dave will be trying to reach targets daily at Henley On Thames, Newbury, Swindon, Cheltenham, Monmouth and finally, Cardiff Millennium Stadium.
EAG have sponsored the event with a brand new Ford Galaxy in order to raise much needed awareness en route and the keys were handed over by Group Marketing Director Matt Brown yesterday. Matt Brown stated that “This particular activity we were proud to get involved with as it supports a hugely worthwhile cause which has been helping to develop and support a new Personnel Recovery Centre (PRCs) in our home county of Essex”.
Twitter and Facebook pages have been created for the fundraisers in order to keep everyone aware of their progress, and Essex Cricket memorabilia has been donated by EAG for auction at a later date.
So far, £6,300 has been raised and will be put towards the Recovery Centres that provide comfortable living and learning accommodation for those on the Road to Recovery.
Help for Heroes is working with the Armed Forces and other Service Charities to deliver a comprehensive pathway to help launch wounded, injured and sick personnel back into the next phase of their lives. To keep up to date with the updates from the trio and to donate, please use the links below.
