Ford President and CEO Tours Essex Ford

On July 1st 2014 Mark Fields succeeded Alan Mulally as the President and CEO of the Ford Motor Company. Since then he has travelled extensively to communicate his vision in person at key locations for the firm around the world, including Essex Ford at Dunton.

Under Alan Mulally, Ford was transformed and strengthened its position as a global player in the automotive industry despite the financial uncertainties plaguing economies. Together with Executive Chairman Bill Ford he also planned ahead to ensure continuity in leadership when it was his time to step down.

As well as impressive work in leadership roles for Ford in Argentina and Europe, Mark Fields was Executive Vice-President and Ford's President for The Americas – a track record that led him to be named as the next CEO as long ago as December 2012.

As well as being committed to the One Ford plan for profitable growth, Fields has stated that his vision purely concerns "continuity and acceleration".

“It is a true honor to lead this great company and this talented team into the future,” he said. “Under Alan’s leadership, we have seen the power of One Ford and what a culture of positive leadership and working together can accomplish. My commitment is to build on that success by accelerating our pace of progress. All of us at Ford are committed to delivering even more of the great products and innovations that will deliver growth and define our company going forward.”

Essex Auto Group Chairman Philip Maskell showed Mark Fields, Barb J. Samardzich (Chief Operating Officer, Ford of Europe), Roelant de Waard (Vice-President, Marketing, Sales and Service Ford of Europe) around Essex Ford at Dunton discussing our 25-year history, the changes they had seen, and the future of Ford.
