The All-New Ford GT

The All-New Ford GT created a huge wave of enthusiasm when it was revealed at North American International Auto Show in January 2015 as the flagship of Ford's elite performance models and a showcase of their latest innovations with ultra-efficient aerodynamics, the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever and lightweight construction utilising materials, such as carbon fibre and aluminium.

The ultra-high-performance supercar has rear-wheel drive and a mid-mounted, next-generation, twin-turbocharged, 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 that generates 647 horsepower and 550 foot-pounds of torque – the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever. The EcoBoost V6 is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for almost instantaneous gear changes. Fully active dynamic systems provide optimum downforce, drag and balance at any speed, including the most advanced active suspension system in its class.

On the track, the Ford GT had a highly successful debut season in 2016 with a class win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in addition to Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen, Mosport, Fuji and Shanghai. In 2017, the Ford GT has got off to a winning start with victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

A limited number of the new GTs will be made and all orders are managed by the Ford Motor Company before being sold to the lucky few!

The all-new Ford GT features a sleek, aerodynamic, two-door coupe body shell created using lightweight materials, such as carbon fibre and aluminium, for the best acceleration, handling, braking, safety, and efficiency. Like all performance vehicles aerodynamic efficiency is essential to reducing drag while optimising downforce and stability. With its tear-drop shape and aircraft-inspired body and windscreen the GT has been designed for speed and balance, and also has a fully active rear spoiler which reacts to both velocity and driver input by adjusting its height and angle of attack.

Through the upward-opening doors the two-seater cabin is fully designed with comfort, control and safety in mind from the seats that have been integrated straight into the carbon-fibre cell to the adjustable pedals and steering column and a Formula 1-style steering wheel with paddle shifters to change gear. A fully digital instrument cluster can be configured to provide all the information needed for a variety of driving modes.

The ultra-lightweight chassis is supported by an active racing-style torsion bar and pushrod suspension which will allow the ride height to be adjusted. The supercar will also have carbon-ceramic brake discs and 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tyres composed of a compound unique to the Ford GT.
