The exterior look of the third-generation Sorento was led by Kia's designers in Korea, with significant contributions from the their Frankfurt and California studios too.
The front of this Sorento sees a bigger 'tiger-nose' grille making more of an impact, with a special 3D diamond pattern, and elongated headlights. The lower line of the roof, elevated beltline and fuller, more rounded curves towards the back give the SUV a powerful appearance. An even more dynamic look has been achieved by increasing the length by 95mm to 4,780mm and reducing the height 15mm to 1,685mm. With the wheelbase extended 80mm to 2,780mm, there's now more space in all three rows of seats.
Soon-Nam Lee, Kia's VP of Overseas Marketing, explained: "While we have
retained the name based on the tremendous success of the current model,
the all-new Sorento has been completely redesigned and re-engineered,
and promises to surprise customers with its thoroughly updated styling, a
host of new convenience and safety technologies, as well as enhanced
space, driving comfort and handling response."
The new Kia Sorento will make its official debut in Korea later in August and be unveiled in Europe on Thursday October 2nd at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The third-generation Sorento is currently expected to be on sale in the UK from spring 2015.
