The all-new Ford Transit Custom, 2013's International Van of the Year, offers efficiency and loadspace at the top of its class. It's also a versatile model, and a wide range of body styles and capacities are available.
A smart exterior design allows drivers to make a great first impression in the Ford Transit Custom. It's a bold and formidable van, but the gently sloping roof line and range of colour schemes ensures that it also shows real refinement. Van, double-cab-in-van and Kombi body styles are available, each offering different dimensions and capacities. Long and short wheelbases can also be chosen from, with the long base measuring in at 3.3 metres. Payload ranges from 683kg to 1,484kg as well, allowing huge loads to be transported.
The Transit Custom's cabin doubles as a mobile office, with storage areas, a fold-down table and Ford SYNC voice control for convenience. The front seats have armrests and can be heated for extra comfort, and drivers can choose an Auto High Beam system to improve visibility. The van has a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating too, as the result of systems like Driver Alert, which detects when you're tired, and Hill Start Assist, which gives you a boost when traversing inclines.
Within the Ford Transit Custom is a 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine, with six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Power ranges from around 100bhp to more than 150bhp, and the improved torque ensures punchy acceleration and a balanced drive quality. Ford ECOnetic technologies are also included to reduce ownership costs and enhance green credentials. CO2 emissions begin at just 162g/km, and the lower fuel consumption also marks the Transit Custom as a class-leading vehicle.
